Introduction

Division of Computational Mechanics (DCM) was established in 2010 with the necessary and practical requirements in Computational Mechanics for simulating and solving practical problems on computers. DCM has developed many effective and accurate computational methods on Computational Solid Mechanics with emphasis on method development for problems involving fracture and failure of solids and fluid-structure interaction.

Mission and vision

  • Build clear and suitable orientations in scientific research, consisting of solving the mechanical problems and publishing high-quality journal papers;
  • Organize biweekly seminars, conferences, meeting with lots of national or international research groups in major fields of Computational Mechanics;
  • Perform transfer of technology such as consulting, supporting, transferring, applying engineering and technology in Computational Mechanics.

Research Topics

Research Topics

  • Constitutive modeling;
  • Material instabilities, fracture, strain localization;
  • Numerical methods (extended finite element and meshfree methods);
  • Isogeometric analysis;
  • Computational fluid-structure interaction;
  • Modeling, design, and optimization, and energy converters
  • Biomechanical engineering.
